What will this course cover?

CBT has been shown to be effective in the treatment of:

  • depression
  • panic attacks
  • phobias
  • obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • anxiety
  • eating disorders
  • insomnia
  • relationship problems
  • workplace stress
  • self esteem issues
  • substance abuse/misuse
  • anger management
  • physical health problems
  • occupational health issues
  • psychosis.

The NHS actively promotes provision of evidence-based practice and CBT is the evidence-based psychotherapy of choice. It can be effective as a stand-alone treatment and can also be used in conjunction with other medical or psychological treatments. The model is versatile and creative and its techniques can be used selectively in general medical, psychological and nursing practice, as well as informing whole courses of integrated treatment. On successful completion, you can then progress on to our MSc Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
